Reaper's Edge: Scythe of Pride

1. What is the game?

• Reaper's Edge is a fast paced FPS where we mixed Doom gameplay along with the soul absorption mechanic from Onimusha. Why ? It's fun, that's why. The mechanic made us rethink a lot about core concepts in the FPS genre and we believe we built something unique and with potential to be much better.

2. Why do you need funding?

• We need people fully dedicated to the Project to realize the scope we envision and we will need to pay them for that. Most of the costs are personnel with a part of it going to taxes, purchases and contingency.

3. What can I expect from the game once it's complete?

• If we reach the bare minimum amount, you can expect a game focused on arena combat, customizable builds, multiple weapons and powers, enough unique enemies to make the battle scenarios interesting. 
• We estimate around 10 hours for completion. If we manage to reach more stretch goals, we can create a longer single player campaign and a lot more additional modes.

4. Can I trust the team?

• We are well aware we are an unknown team, but we have experience with IT related projects.
• As such, we will manage this crowdfunded title as we would manage projects in our day to day job: Keeping stakeholders informed by sending periodic status about the game's progress, next steps and expenditure. Engaging the community in testing early builds so we can guarantee the quality of the title.

5. When is the game expected to launch?

• Assuming we reach our minimum funding goal and no stretch goals are unlocked, we estimate approximately one year of development, with the game launching no later than Q1 2028.
• If we secure funding for the game's full scope (the base game plus all stretch goals), we estimate up to 2.5 years of development, with the game launching no later than Q3 2029.
• Throughout development, Early Access builds will be made available to backers.

6. How much do you expect the title to change with the funding?

• Everything. If we manage to secure funds we will:
  • Review the current code to optimize the foundations and allow the game to run well even on weaker hardware;
  • Review and polish the current visuals;
  • Create and expand game mechanics that are teased in the Prototype (e.g. weapon and character customization, more movement options, more mechanics to use energy, etc.);
  •  Create more enemy variety. This is key for the overall game to keep the combat interesting and fresh;
  • Create more levels and put a bigger focus on the world lore, story and characters;
  • Create optional game modes (challenge mode, roguelike mode, etc.).

• We are well aware that the product we want to deliver is a fast paced FPS so all funding will be redirected into improving the game.

7. Will you launch in other platforms?

• The crowdfunding campaign is focused on funding the development and release of the PC version first.
• If the campaign is successful, we intend to explore bringing the game to additional platforms such as PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles after the PC launch.
• If we secure enough funding to fully realize our vision for the project, we will plan console versions to launch as close as possible to the PC release.

8. What is the Studio stance on generative AI ?

• Very limited use only. We use generative AI to support our workflows, facilitate idea iteration within the team, and create small or placeholder assets.
• By "small assets," we mean environmental assets such as minor props, background details, textures, or decorative objects. These elements do not affect gameplay, narrative, progression, or the game's artistic direction or visual identity; they exist solely to enhance the overall environment.
• Those assets are either purchased or generated, then reviewed, verified, and corrected by the team when necessary.
• Any assets that do not fall into this category are used strictly as placeholders and are intended to be replaced once the project enters full development.
